Sources &
methodology

Where the facts on this site come from, how they are cross-checked, and how uncertainty is flagged. Historical honesty is the rule of the house.

Methodology

Every fact carries its confidence level

No figure is published without a source, and no rumour is presented as fact. On the Tuners and Pop culture pages, every entry carries an explicit reliability badge; everything still to be confirmed is gathered in dedicated “to document” sections — and submitted to the community.

🟢Manufacturer documentation / known homologation 🟡Period press / specialist literature 🟠Consistent accounts / photos 🔴To be confirmed

What we read and cross-check

Period documents (primary sources)

Manufacturer repair manuals and technical notes — like the Renault MR-MOT-Z manual readable in the Library — plus period advertising and archive plates shown on the History page.

French and English encyclopedic articles on the PRV engine and the cars that used it — used as a cross-checking base, never as a single source.
